Love baseball? Want to be part of the game while earning extra cash? De Pere Youth Baseball is looking for umpires for the upcoming season!
Pay
Our current season rates that the umpires will earn:

| American & National League | $20 for the Field Umpire; $25 for Home Plate Umpire |
Additionally, each umpire is entitled to 1 beverage and 1 snack item per game from the Concessions stand.
Ages
We have minimum grade-level requirements for our Youth House League umpires, depending on the Program they are umpiring:

When
Umpires will work our Youth House Leagues (1st Grade through 6th Grade players) during our Summer Season (May - July) and Fall Season (September & October).

Equipment & Training
Equipment will be provided:
- Shin guards, chest protector, facemask/helmet for Home Plate umpires
- Umpire shirts (these will stay in the equipment sheds, and washed regularly)
- Ball/strike/out handheld counter
Ahead of each season, a training session will be provided for new umpires to review expectations and rules.
Expectations
Expectations of our umpires:
- Be responsible for learning the rules specific to the league you are umpiring and attend the training session(s) if you are able to.
- Rules are available on our website through the link below
- Be responsible for updating your availability in Crossbar. Staying on top of this reduces the work involved in our schedulers having to find replacement umpires.
- Arrive early enough to be properly equipped with the scoreboard functional for the game start time.
- Be able to operate the scoreboard controllers, and return them to their chargers at the end of the night.
