Registration for the 2023 Fall Ball season will close on July 31st.
Information on each of our available programs are below. Please note that De Pere Youth Baseball (DPYB) follows the Pitch Smart guidelines at the recommendation of USA Baseball.
Little Sluggers - This is a coach pitch league and is intended for kids in 4K and Kindergarten. The goal of this league is to teach the basic concepts of hitting the ball, running the bases in proper order and fielding the ball to make the throw to 1st base. There are two 5 week sessions of play in the Spring/Summer with all games played at Quarry Park. During registration, you will have the option to select a league that plays on Monday & Wednesday nights, or a league that plays Tuesday & Thursday nights.
Pee Wee - There are two machine pitch leagues available. Games may be played at Quarry Park and Ledgeview Park. During registration, you will have the option to select a league that plays on Monday & Wednesday nights, or a league that plays Tuesday & Thursday nights.
Minors - This league is for kids in Kindergarten, 1st or 2nd grade. There are no strikeouts. The ball is placed on a tee if the player reaches 3 strikes. No score is kept. This is a 7 week season that concludes around the same time that school is out for the year. This program is also offered in Fall Ball.
Majors - This league is for kids in 1st or 2nd grade who are more advanced in their skills. There is no hitting tee and score is kept. This league runs for 9 weeks starting in May and concludes in mid-July with a year end tournament. Majors is not offered in Fall, but these ages may still participate in the Fall Ball Pee Wee Minors division.
*If your 1st or 2nd grader wishes to try out for one of our Tournament Teams (7U or 8U), it is required that they play in the Majors division.
American League (3rd & 4th grade) and National League (5th & 6th grade) - These are "kid pitch" leagues, where more advanced baseball skills are introduced and developed. These are 9 week seasons starting in May and conclude in mid-July with a year end tournament. Games may be played at Kelly Danen Park and Mulva Family Fields (Scray Hill). American League games in the Spring/Summer session are played on Tuesday & Thursday nights, while National League games are played on Monday & Wednesday nights. Fall Ball practices/games are held on the opposite nights (M/W for American League, T/TH for National League).
Pony League - This league is for current 7th graders and serves as an intermediate step between youth and high school baseball. Base paths are increased to 75' in distance and the pitchers mound is 54' from home plate. Home games are played at Southwest Park, and away games are played at various fields in the Green Bay area. New for Fall 2023 - De Pere will organize it's own Fall Ball league with game played at Mulva Family Fields.
Babe Ruth League - This league is for current 8th and 9th graders, played on high school (full-sized) fields.
Legion - This is a summer league for High School students.
Please note these grade levels have options for which league they may sign up for:
Kindergarten - A true beginner should probably sign up for Little Sluggers. If you feel your kindergartener is more advanced and ready to try hitting off of the pitching machine, they have the option of playing in the Pee Wee Minors league.
1st & 2nd grade - You may register these players for Pee Wee in either the Minors or Majors division. If you feel your player is more advanced, Majors is probably the right choice. If you intend to have your player try out for one of our traveling tournament teams, playing in the Majors division is required.
