Panthers Open State With a BANG !!!

ASHWAUBENON — De Pere pounded out 14 hits and rolled to a 10-0 victory over Kenosha on Wednesday in the opening round of the American Legion baseball Class AAA state tournament at Ashwaubomay Park.

De Pere (27-13) broke open a 3-0 game by scoring five runs in the fifth inning. Travis Mason had the big hit of the inning, a three-run home run.

Dakota Perock went 4-for-6 with two RBIs, Jake DeCleene went 3-for-4 with three runs scored and Mason and Kyle Ott added two hits apiece for De Pere, which plays Eau Claire at 7:30 tonight.

Michael Schneider gave up one hit and struck out eight in five innings to get the win. Mason earned a save by finishing with four hitless innings.
